Audit and Compliance
The
Audit and Compliance Department is responsible
for ensuring the existence of an effective
control system and also for monitoring compliance
with laid down operational procedures within
the framework of established policies. They
are also involved in the continuous improvement
of our processes. A degree in Accounting
or any other Social Science plus a natural
ability to pay attention to details are
prerequisites for performance in this area.
To build a career in this department, the
need for long attention span, ability to
work long hours, analytical thinking skills
and a very good grasp of the operational
procedures and regulatory requirements are

Control Department
Financial
Control department monitors the Service's
assets and liabilities as well as it’s
financial performance and ensures there
are no variances with budgeted figures.
They advise management on matters that affect
the financial well being of the Company and
also acts as a repository of corporate information
for planning purposes as well as manages
the interface between the Company and the relevant
regulatory authorities. |

Credit
Risk Management Group
Credit Risk Management Group takes
control of the Service's risk assets
and ensures compliance with credit policies
and also handles loan recoveries and project
monitoring. To perform efficiently in this
department, high numerical skills, a strong
analytical mind, good understanding of financial
statements, proficiency in basic accounting
procedures and an understanding of macroeconomic
trends and developments are very necessary.

Control Department
Management Control Department: carry out
online-real-time control of all the Banks
financial transactions. This they do by
constantly evaluating the control policies
and procedures of the Company. Ability to pay
extensive attention to details, high level
of doggedness in sticking to procedures
and a flair for numbers are basic character
traits required to excel in this area of
the Company. |

Operations
Group
Operations offer services in Funds Transfer,
Cash deposit and withdrawals, cheque clearing,
Domestic International and treasury operations.
This group has the responsibility of maintaining
up-to- date records of the Banks books of
account and customer information. A good
knowledge of Accounting and ability to crunch
numbers is an advantage to be able to perform
excellently in any of these units. |

Information
Technology
Our IT department handles our technology needs
by developing and supporting the Service's
processing software. It is responsible for
formulation and implementation of enterprise
information systems using modern day infrastructures
available. The Company therefore recruits intelligent
and technically sound graduates in any of
the related disciplines. |

Business
Development Group
The Business Development group is the bridge
between the Company and its customers both current
and prospective. It consists of corporate
Banking, Credit Products, Multilateral, Energy,
Trade Finance and Marketing units. This unit
therefore, ensures that the Company consistently
offers services that guarantee a pleasant
experience for all those with whom we come
in contact. Sharp and articulate persons with
excellent interpersonal and communication
skills excel here. |

Treasury
Department
Treasury manages the Banks liquidity position,
co-ordinates deposit mobilization, inter-Company
takings and placements and determination
of interest rates to be offered to depositors.
The requirements to perform in this area
of the Company are about the same with the
above but also strong numerical, analytical
and negotiation skills; knowledge of Company
products and also a good understanding of
the economic situation in the country are
required to effectively perform in Treasury.

Resources Management
Human Resources Management is charged with
the provision of an optimal human resource
base that is properly motivated to perform
at a level that will deliver on the
Service's
self imposed high standards. This necessarily
covers testing, interviewing, selection,
recruitment, deployment, discipline and
reward. Human Resources performance indicators
that enhance employee morale, encourage
high performance on the job by all staff
and improvements of competence level are
maintained. Ability to deal with ambiguous
and complex issues, manage people, high
level of organizational skills, good sense
of judgment, and a comprehensive knowledge
of personnel policies and labor laws will
provide individuals with an interest in

Administration
is the superintending unit, which makes
sure that all units; departments and branches
are adequately provided for to meet the
requirements of set tasks. Individuals interested
in this are should have good
organizational
and co-ordination skills. High level of
discipline and physical fitness are all

a good administrator

Legal
and Company Secretariat
This is a highly professional area of the
Company. A degree in law is a necessary prerequisite.
The responsibility of providing legal services
and advises to the Company lie with them. They
also ensure that the Company complies with
all relevant law of the land and other statutory
requirements. Excellent communication skills
and a deep knowledge of legal matters are
a must for a career in this area of the
Company.

Corporate
Communications
The Corporate Communications Department
undertakes the day to day management of
the Banks internal and external publics.
A degree in any of the social sciences
and experience in media practice, is a
prerequisite for any potential employee
into the department. A sound knowledge
of advertising/publicity and a flair for
writing are other requirements for effective
role in this department, which consists
of Research, Library management, Protocol
and Media Management.
